Salli's human tells us:

Salli is my daughters dog who lives with us as a longterm 'foster' dog. She was rescued from a farm in Estonia when my daughter was living there and would not have survived if she hadn't adopted her.

A couple of years later, my daughter was caught up in the war in Sudan and it took several difficult weeks to get her home, with many dark days when we didn't know where she was and if indeed she would make it safely home. Salli was a huge comfort during these days - she was my link with Emily (my daughter) and, as dogs do, seemed to understand the anxiety we were going through. She was my constant companion during this time, following me everywhere and 'listening' when I couldn't sleep and didn't know where to turn. One day she will go back to living with Emily when she returns to the UK, but for now she is my sweet little doggo who cheers me up when I am missing her 'mum'!
